On Friday, December 17, from 7:00-9:00pm the REACH Interpretive Center will be hosting the monthly 509Art Salon. The 509Art Salon is a place for local artists and art enthusiasts to get together to meet one another, it is also a place for them to discuss and experience art in Eastern Washington. During the December Salon come and hear about the REACH and the 2011 Mardis Gras event, discuss how to incorporate the Arts community into the event, and learn about Richland’s desire to add art along the Columbia River. The December 509Art Salon will take place at the REACH Interpretive Center in Richland Washington.

Tri Cities Washington is home to a large and diverse population of artists. During the weekend of November 13-14 14 of our local artists are opening their studios for you during the Annual Tri Cities' Artists Open Studio Tour. Come and visit each of the artists in their studio and watch them paint, create pottery, sculpt, make jewelry, fiber art, or glass art. These fourteen artists will be located in eleven studios all around the Tri Cities. During both days of the tour the selected studios will be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm. There is no charge to participate in this tour. On Saturday, September 25, the City of Richland will be holding their 10th City Fair beginning at 10:30am and going until 1:30pm. The fair will be a way for the residents of Richland Washington and the rest of the Tri Cities to come learn about the municipal services, programs and projects. Come by the Richland City Hall on the corner of George Washington Way and Swift Blvd where there will be activities, displays and demonstrations for all ages. There will be a city employee from each department manning a display with handouts, games and demonstrations.

The Allied Arts Gallery in Richland Washington will be hosting the annual Northwest Designer Craftsman exhibition this year. The exhibition began on August 31 and will go through September 24. This annual exhibition began in 1954 and features various art created from traditional material that blurs the line between craft and fine art. The exhibition was primarily created to promote excellence of design and craftsmanship as well as to fuel the public’s appreciation and interest in art and fine craftsmanship.
