Blue Mountain Wildlife Fundraiser in KennewickIf you don’t have anything to do on April 19, head on out to Kennewick Ranch and Home at 845 N. Columbia Center Blvd. for the annual Blue Mountain Wildlife Fundraiser.

Blue Mountain Wildlife is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to provide help and take care of orphaned, sick, or injured wildlife. Their focus is on birds of prey, providing these creatures the necessary treatment and care to bring them back to their natural habitat.

Their goals include training volunteers to become experts in rehabilitation techniques, helping enhance awareness and appreciation of wildlife through public education, and providing a facility where concerned people can bring wildlife that need care.

Are you looking for a family-friendly event to jumpstart your onslaught of Spring activities? Then hop on over to the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, Wa on Saturday, March 15, for the Tri City Rabbit Show.

Tri City Rabbit Show
The Tri City Rabbit Association will host the all-breed rabbit and guinea pigs show, which will last from 8AM to 4PM. Over 1,000 rabbits and cavies (guinea pigs) will be shown that day, with 50 different breeds represented.

Family-Friendly Event
This family-friendly event will be held at building number 2 of the Benton Franklin Fairgrounds. There will be vendors selling rabbit supplies, cages, and of course, food and coffee. For more information, you may call (509) 460-0375.

The McNary Wildlife Refuge offers many events and educational classes for Tri City Washington area residents. These events are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated.

Make a Difference Day
On Saturday, October 23 the wildlife refuge will be holding Make a Difference Day at Goethals Park Nature Playground in Richland Washington. The day will begin at 9:00am and go until 1:00pm. Those who come will be able to participate in planting native plants, building play structures, spreading ground cover, and family fun hands-on activities.

Second Saturday: Wildlife Films
On November 23, Friends of Mid-Columbia River Wildlife Refuge will be showing wildlife films from 9:00am to 12:00pm. They’ll pop the popcorn while you enjoy the movies!
