This Howl-O-Ween event is Adopt Shelter Animal Pets' first. This event features a 5k fun run and walk that also includes a pet costume contest, pet photos and face painting. Vendors will be at the site so participants can purchase food, drinks, mementos and items for their pets. Howl-O-Ween is a benefit event of which proceeds will be used for the veterinary care fund for animals that were abused and abandoned in West Richland.

3rd Annual Statewide Shelter Open HouseThe 3rd Annual Statewide Shelter Open House will be on Saturday, October 4 at the Benton County Animal Control, 1116 N Grant Pl. in Kennewick from 11:30 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon.

If you have not tried taking a field trip to your community shelter, now is your chance to do so! The event is hosted by Pawsitive Alliance. There will be 24 Shelters across Washington State including Benton County Animal Control who will be opening up their doors to host an Open House Pawty.

Admission is FREE! Come see the work they are doing for animals in need--and enjoy a Pawty too!

Note: Benton County Animal Control is in need of dog food donations!

The event will be held at 618 Lago Vista Drive in Richland. It's your chance to learn to paint from a photo. This watercolor workshop will focus on using a photo of an animal and using it as the basis for a painting. The face will have some detail, but the rest will be in loose style.

It will be presented by two instructors Suzi Vitulli and Chris Blevins. Please be advised that check-in time is 8:45 in the morning while class will begin at 9:00. Also, bring a lunch with you.…
