Sacajawea Heritage Days At Sacajawea State Park Pasco, WashingtonThe Sacajawea Heritage Days will be on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 at the Sacajawea State Park in Pasco, Washington.

About Sacajawea Heritage Days
The event runs for two days, Friday and Saturday. Friday is for school children, allowing them to see and touch what used to be. Saturday is for everybody so make sure to call your friends and family. The intention of Sacajawea Heritage Days is educate people and re-enact the life and skills of the the early American explorers, the Native American cultures they found along the way, and the lives of the early settlers.

There are Lewis & Clark re-enactors, members of the Umatilla and Yakama Nations, and the Wanapums, along with mountain man encampments, local museums, and other people who enjoy sharing their skills and knowledge about what life was like nearly two centuries ago.

Schedule

The September 25 festivities will be dedicated to schoolchildren. From 9:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon they will learn about history and experiencing hands-on fun with historic items used in our day-to-day activities.

On the second day, September 26, there will be demonstrations of quilting, weaving and spinning and how to pack canoe. There will be a campfire at 7:30 in the evening where campers will be playing music, singing, telling stories, and just have a good time.

Note: a Washington State Discover pass is not required on Saturday since this is a fee free day.
