Richland’s Battelle Film Club Presents Paradise NowIf you don’t have anything planned yet for Friday night, then you might want go to Battelle Auditorium in Richland for one of the movies in their Spring lineup this year.

Battelle Film Club
The Battelle Film Club (BFC) is devoted to bringing quality cinema entertainment to the Tri Cities. So much so that they have opened membership to all interested ones in the community. You may find membership details on their website.

The films they show are not usually shown or available in cinemas or in rental stores in the Tri Cities. Mostly independent, off Hollywood and foreign productions, a short introduction tops off the films they show to help the audience understand the premise of the film. An informal discussion follows the film showing at the lobby of the auditorium.

Paradise Now
This Friday, April 25, BFC will show Paradise Now, a 2005 crime thriller revolving around two Palestinian guys who were called upon to sacrifice themselves in a revenge attack on Tel Aviv. Film showing starts at 8PM. This film has won several awards and nominations already:

  • Winner of the Best Foreign Language Film for Palestine at the 2006 Golden Globes
  • Amnesty International Film Prize at the 2005 Berlin International Film Festival
  • Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year at the 2006 Oscars
