Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Livin’ It Up in the Park event and silent auction benefiting the Modern Living Services. This year the event will take place at Howard Amon Park at the Fingernail Stage. Come bring your family, friends and some chairs and enjoy a taste of local music, food, and art. This event and silent auction will take place on Sunday, August 15, beginning at 3:00pm and lasting until 7:00pm. All proceeds will benefit housing and vocational programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
The Modern Living Services (MLS) of the Mid-Columbia community was created for the purpose of providing the necessary resources for young adults living in the area with developmental disabilities to learns, grow, and achieve throughout their lives. MLS provides housing and community resources as well as vocational training, employment, day services, and other needs. In our area there are more that 800 developmentally disabled individuals and of those only 100 are receiving supportive living services. In order for MLS to be successful they need the help of businesses and organizations in the area as well as from fundraisers like the Livin’ It Up in the Park.
