About the 1st Annual Lyme Disease Awareness Walk
In view of the Lyme Disease Awareness Month, the Fighting Tigers will host an awareness walk to call for a more accurate and accessible Lyme testing. Participants are advised to wear Lyme green clothes to demonstrate support. Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, which can lead to cognitive defects and heart ailment.
Registration to the 1st Annual Lyme Disease Awareness Walk costs $25 each for adults and $15 each for kids ages 6 to 12. The registration fee includes a T-shirt and a souvenir bracelet. Kids below 6 years old can join for free but no t-shirt will be provided. All proceeds from the awareness walk will be used for the new Lyme testing and individuals who need to be tested.
