Fourth Friday LIGO Hanford Observatory Tours, Richland WaEverybody is welcome to join the public drop-in tours being offered by LIGO Hanford Observatory every fourth Friday of the month. The tours last about two hours, from 3 to 5PM. This month, the fourth Friday tour will fall on April 25.

Tour Inclusions
As most probably know, LIGO is a facility where everyone can observe gravitational waves of cosmic origin. According to LIGO’s website, LIGO “searches for gravitational waves created in the supernova collapse of stellar cores to form neutron stars or black holes, the collisions and coalescences of neutron stars or black holes, the wobbly rotation of neutron stars with deformed crusts and the remnants of gravitational radiation created by the birth of the universe.”
