Kids ages to 6 to 12 years old are invited to join Mid-Columbia Libraries' Astronaut Training Camp which will be held on July 14, 2016. The camp will run from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and will take place at West Richland Branch located at 3803 W. Van Giesen. Kids always wonder what it is like to be riding a spacecraft. Through the Astronaut Training Camp, the little ones will find out what it takes to become an astronaut by means of exciting games and fun activities.
Astronauts are also called 'cosmonauts'. They are individuals who are trained to take on a spaceflight program. An astronaut can be the spacecraft's pilot or crew member. Kids are usually overwhelmed by the thought of becoming an astronaut. They are amazed at the idea of riding in a space shuttle and being clothed in a spacesuit.
