1st Annual 2nd Harvest Hunger Hike
Hiking is a known leisurely activity that can provide a number of health benefits like heart disease prevention, improved blood sugar and blood pressure levels, and strengthened core. The 2nd Harvest is inviting all community members to take their love for hiking to the next level by joining the 1st Annual Hunger Hike. The event aims to raise awareness about the occurrence of hunger in some communities and to encourage everyone to make donations for people who are suffering from food shortage. The 2nd Harvest efforts have brought more than 2 million pounds of food per month to over 26 counties located in Easter Washington and Northern Idaho.
Registration for the 1st Annual Hike for Hunger costs $10 each. Kids below 12 years old can join for free. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 200 hikers. Food donations are also encouraged. Don't miss it!Posted by Colleen D. Lane on
