The Sandhill Crane Festival, Othello, WashingtonThe Othello Sandhill Crane Festival started in 1998. Cement Suitcase Special Showing in Fairchild Cinemas, PascoCement Suitcase is a comedy film written and directed by a native of Yakima Valley. It was shot entirely in and around the Valley. It will have a one night only special showing at the Fairchild Cinemas in Pasco on March 22 at 7PM.

Camerata Musica Featuring Will Earl Spanheimer at RichlandIf you don’t have anything better to do on March 22, head on out to Battelle Auditorium for Camerata Musica. The show will start at 8PM until 11PM, and it will feature Will Earl Spanheimer, a local artist who is part of Kennewick High’s class of 1986.

Will Earl Spanheimer is a bass-baritone, and he will be performing with Patti Robertson, a collaborative pianist. Their special guest is soprano Carissa Simpson, and together, they will present a program of operatic arias intermixed with classic show tunes.

LIGO Hanford Observatory Fourth-Friday Tours in Richland, WaEvery fourth Friday of the month, the LIGO Hanford Observatory in Richland offers public drop-in tours, which gives people a chance to observe and take an excellent look at their facility.

Tour Groups
You can actually form your own tour group of 15 participants and get in touch with LIGO to find out how your group can schedule a private tour, either during weekdays or in the evening.

LIGO provides regular tours for community groups, astronomy clubs, professional societies, and others. Tours normally last about two hours only, so you won’t get bored at all.

Middle school age students (and above) are encouraged to take advantage of the tours, but both young and old are welcome to tour the facility.

Free Presentation – Colorectal Cancer at TCCC in KennewickA couple of years ago, the Centers for Disease Control or CDC reported that while the number of colorectal cancer deaths throughout the United States have drastically gone down in recent years, Washington still ranks number one in the country for the highest rate of colon cancer deaths. The numbers are staggering: 21.1 per 100,000 deaths in Washington, D.C. alone.
