Back in the mid-1900s a man named Leon Bailey, a dry land farmer owned a sizable portion of land in what is present-day Basin City, Washington. Sometime in the 1950s, the town of Basin City was established to support the local agricultural community. The establishment of the town also helped the farmers to be opened to irrigation through the Columbia Basin Project. Basin City is in Eastern Washington about 25 miles north of Pasco Washington. The weather in Basin City fluctuates with the change of seasons; the yearly average temperature is about 47.5° F with a high of 84.9° F.
