22nd Annual Mid-Columbia Duck Race 2010
For over 20 years six local Rotary groups have come together once a year for the annual Mid-Columbia Duck Race. This year the kick off for the Mid-Columbia Duck race will be held on July 24, 2010 inside the Columbia Center Mall in front of Sears beginning at 11:00am. The duck race kick off will feature a short program at 12:15pm where Rotarians will be present to share information about the Rotary and raffle off door prizes. Door prizes will include a sweetheart package at the Courtyard by Marriot, two rounds of golf at Columbia Point Golf Course, a $50 gift certificate for Anthony’s, along with other various door prizes. Those who come will also get the chance to meet CJ Duck a few representative from event sponsors Toyota of Tri Cities and Baker Boyer Bank.
The Mid Columbia Duck Race fundraiser has been going on for the past 22 years. During those 22 years the local Rotary groups have raised over $2 million, the money raised during the Mid-Columbia Duck Race is used to support local human service organizations and projects. The official duck race will take place on October 9, 2010 at Columbia Park in Kennewick Washington, Race Day will begin at 10:00am and go until 2:00pm. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a duck, duck tickets can be purchased at Toyota of Tri Cities in Kennewick Washinton, Roasters Coffee in Richland Washington, Ranch & Home in Kennewick Washington, or Cousins Restaurant in Pasco Washington. These duck races are great events! I often find myself wishing we had one here in Mesa.
