Richland Wa Real Estate ~ Richland’s History

Filed under: Real Estate News — spokengently @ 7:23 pm

Richland Wa Real Estate ~ Richland’s History

According to archeological research, the Richland Wa Real Estate region has been occupied for over 11, 00 years – that’s a lot of time for a piece of real estate to be of value!

Many hundreds of years ago at the mouth of the Tapetett River (now known as the Yakima River) there was a village called Chemna of the Sahaptin speaking American Indians. At this time, the indigenous peoples fished seasonally for salmon in the river, and hunted for deer in the plains. There was also an abundance of berries, root vegetables and greens both on land and in the waterways.

Captain William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, was on e of the first reported white men in the area in 1805, arriving via the Columbia River to the mouth of the Yakima River. It wasn’t until over half a century later that the first white settlers arrived, and the Nelson family was one of the first to attempt to set up a home in the area in 1864. It appears that another family, the Rosencrances, did not arrive into the region until 1880, although when they did they set up a big homestead of almost 1,700 acres.

The Richland Wa Real Estate region certainly has its charm; wouldn’t it be great to turn back time…

Pasco Wa Real Estate ~ Port Details Riverside Project

Filed under: Real Estate News — spokengently @ 8:10 pm

Pasco Wa Real Estate ~ Port Details Riverside Project

The Port of Pasco Wa Real Estate area has recently approved its budget for the upcoming year of 2007. And a key feature of the budget is the Riverside Business Park project.

The Port considers the 125-acre development along the Columbia River in Pasco Wa Real Estate, from Cascade Marina to the barge terminal, could be set to become a popular destination for businesses, as it will include restaurants, cafes, technologically orientated offices, an amphitheatre and a park pond.

An amphitheatre would double as a meeting and conference area, and be available for concerts, plays, political speeches and other outdoor community events. The addition of the pond meets with federal requirements to be able to fold the area if an emergency ensues in the Pasco Wa Real Estate area.

The budget expects an increase in operating expenses over the next year by 5%, claims Jim Tooney, the Executive Director of the Port. In total the operating budget is $6.1 million, which is inclusive of a 1% increase in property tax.  It is also anticipated that $1.3 million will be gained from property taxes during 2007.  There are also plans to draw on Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to provide law enforcement to the Tri-Cities Airport, and $250, 000 is allocated from the budget for these services.  In 2007, the Port will focus on obtaining land-use permits in the Pasco Wa Real Estate area.

Tri City WA Job Growth Spurt

Filed under: Real Estate News — spokengently @ 6:59 pm

The unemployment rates in Tri City Wa Real Estate area are at their lowest point ever and the prospects for gainful employment are skyrocketing, according to Dean Schau (regional economist) earlier this week. Job prospects are high for those looking for fulltime work; in fact the opportunities appear to be the best in over three decades.

The central Columbia region experienced almost 1% growth in jobs during the month of October, as compared to 2005. It seems that the downsizing and reorganization at Hanford that resulted in the loss of almost 700 jobs has been buffered by the recent increase elsewhere in the region.

Paralleling these optimistic figures are those of Benton County and Franklin County (4.5% and 4.9% unemployment rates respectively). Schau advocates that these figures are the lowest recorded in over two decades.

The employment trend appears to be taking place across the state of Washington, with a reported 101, 000 net new jobs available over the past year (i.e., since October 2005). From January to October of this year, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has been at its lowest since 1999 (4.9%).

Evidently the economy is strong, and as Governor Gregoire states, “Washington really is open for business.”

And there appears to be a shortage of workers to fill many of the available positions in Tri City Wa Real Estate area. Combined with lower cost of living in the Tri City district, local residents are set to reap financial benefits. The state Office of Financial Management reports that the median annual household income in Benton County, at present, is $57, 399 and in Franklin County, $39, 831.

According to Schau, the significant increases in employment are due to the health care, retail and wholesale industries. For example, almost 300 jobs were created in health care during the past year. And almost 400 positions were created with the establishment of an Amazon.com call center. Further, Washington’s Wine region appears to be operating strongly too.

And along Road 68 from Pasco over the past year retail developments have included Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Applebee’s and other outlets, states the spokesperson for WorkSource Columbia Basin, Candace Bluechel.

With the expansions to the state prisons in the Tri City Wa Real Estate area at Connell and Wall Walla an additional 600 correctional officer positions are expected, with about 150 jobs being created for support positions in Connell. A job fair is being coordinated by Bluechel on December 14 to recruit for the positions.

Pasco’s Yard of the Month Program

What a delightful idea to engage the community in city pride and interaction with the abundance of nature in a city like Pasco – the Yard of the Month Program.

Initiated in 1990, Pasco’s Yard of the Month Program strives to acknowledge residents efforts to care and maintain their property, and ultimately, the ambiance of Pasco itself. Friendly competition is a great socializing opportunity for young and old, with volunteer judges who nominate outstanding yards between the months of April to September.

A meeting at City Council sees the announcement of each months winner, and to further celebrate the achievements of the winning gardener, an ad is placed in the Tri-City Herald as well as a notice displayed at Pasco City Hall. Filed under: Real Estate News — spokengently @ 9:44 pm

Richland Wa Real Estate ~ Wines

Richland Wa is a thriving and vital part of the Washington Wines Region.  The wineries are a lovely way to spend a leisurely Sunday drive, or to just take some time out from the rat race for yourself.

And what better way to get to know an area before you move there, or as a new arrival?

The wine industry in Washington has an international reputation for its quality wines. As a state production has doubled over the past decade, and including the Richland Wa area, wineries are growing in number across the region.

Richland’s superb weather provides the long hot days of summer combined with cool evenings that result in robust Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons. There are also numerous popular white wines, such as chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Most wineries are only a half-hour drive from Richland Wa, and an afternoon ambling through the wineries of the area provides a range of experiences in tasting rooms at private homes, chateaux and accompanying picnic grounds and ponds.

So, if you are thinking of moving to the fine city of Richland Wa, take a trip though this gorgeous countryside to acquaint yourself with what could soon be in “your backyard.” And if you are already a local resident, treat yourself first to a trip out to this popular industry – and make the most of the restaurants, shopping and cafes along the way.

A tasting tour is possible almost every day of the week among the vineyards.   Consider Richland Wa Real Estate Today!
