Tri Citian of the Year Award in KennewickIt’s that time of the year again. The whole of Tri Cities will once again honor distinguished Tri Citians who went over and above their capabilities to contribute to the growth and development of the Tri Cities.

Tri Citian of the Year
The Tri City Herald conceptualized the Tri Citian of the Year award. The very first recipient of this award was Owen Hurd, and that was back in 1962.

Despite hitches along the way, the Tri Citian of Year awarding is now a community wide effort and is considered the single most important and well-known annual awards program in the Tri Cities.

Basis for the Award
In the get-go, we mentioned that those who are nominated for the award must be instrumental to the growth and development of the Tri Cities. A person must be nominated by his peers because he was able to display “service above self”, outstanding leadership, and contribution to positive development, economic growth, and quality of life in the Tri Cities.

Make sure you’re there to join the community in honoring this year’s esteemed Tri Citian. The awarding will take place at Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick on April 19 at 6PM. Admission is $60. For more information, you may call (509) 783-2109 or visit www.tricitianoftheyear.com.
