Mindfulness through Art in RichlandWhat don’t you already know about art? Apparently, it can wake you up from the dream you normally live in or shock you into the present moment. There’s something about art or the idea of creating something visually that activates a certain part of your brain and that’s what this event is all about.

Mindfulness through Art – Playing with Paint to Become Present
Chris Blevins, renowned watercolor artist and teacher is inviting all of you for a night of mindfulness through art. Each participant will learn how to immerse himself in his work until he starts paying attention to what he’s working on – the texture of the paper, feel of the brush, smell of the paper and paint, and the sounds around him – so much so that he might start to lose track of time and everything around him. That is what this whole art class wants to achieve – keeping your mind focused on what’s happening in the present.

No prior painting or art experience is necessary to register for this class, but Mr. Blevins is promising to give you an exercise in mindfulness.

The class will take place at Therapy Solutions at 1455 Columbia Park Trail in Richland on April 18. Be there at 6:15PM. Admission is $45, and you may register through this website.
