Pasco School District Resources & Statistics:

The school is named after an American poet, Robert Lee Frost, who received four Pulitzer Prizes.  He wrote poetry, plays, and prose.  On January, 1961, during John F. Kennedy’s inauguration, he recited the poem, “The Gift Outright”.

Aside from the quality education that Robert Frost Elementary School provides, it also offers enrichment programs like basketball, soccer, art club, dance club, Puppeteer’s Club, chess, and hairstyling.  There are tutoring opportunities for students who need extra help in their academic subjects.

Parent involvement is part of a student’s success.  Parents are encouraged to communicate with their child’s teacher on a regular basis.  There is a Parent-Teacher Organization which raises funds and organizes activities for the school.  Some of the PTA activities are the Winter Festival and the Valentine’s Box Decoration.   They are also invited to participate in school activities and celebrations such as field trips, plays, and musical performances.

The school library has more than fifteen thousand books in English, Russian, and Spanish.  It also has a computer laboratory for the students to use everyday for different projects.

The priority goal of schools in Pasco is to continue to improve student achievement.  Students in the fourth grade are required to take the Washington Assessment of Student Learning.  Through the WASL tests, the state and federal government can measure if the school district is making progress.

Research-based curriculum, evaluation of standards, and alignment to district goals are ways to achieve student success.  Reading, Writing, and Mathematics are the core subjects in which the school is focused.   Teachers constantly undergo training in reading and mathematics to further improve instructions in these subjects.

The students are expected to show respect, make wise decisions, and solve problems.  This is in line with the school’s aim at total student development.

The commitment of the school is to provide the students an environment that is safe and caring and a learning environment with high academic standards.  And with the help and cooperation of the staff, the parents, and the community, Pasco schools are ensured of globally competitive students and life-long learners.
